A game-ready model and textures of a real-world pistol adapted for games.

Summary of Work

  • 3D Models: Created high and low poly versions of each model using Maya.

  • Texturing: Used Substance Painter to create realistic materials for each part of the weapon.

  • Game Ready: Modified model to contain a picatinny rail to allow customization and worked under a 10k polygon count to ensure the asset is optimized for games.

 

Take Aways

  • Experienced a full asset production pipeline from reference images to importing in-engine.

  • Games can modify weapons to meet the requirements of the gameplay.
